Sorry, Once More
Dammit, I keep getting distracted from sitting down here and writing something worthwhile. Today is no different: I'm going for a kickabout with a load of new mates in 20 minutes, then I'm off to the closing party for my language course that I've been doing for the last 4 weeks...The detox is going relatively well. I had 2 drinks last night, which were my first since last Thursday, but I was stone cold sober. I thought that I'd be a hell of a lot worse. I have a feeling that tonight could get a touch messy though. 4+ hours of free drink, then probably going out afterwards? I'm going to know about that in the morning.
One final thing in this briefest of messages: I found the British Library's website earlier, and their treasures section is fantastic. You can see one of the original Magna Cartas online, so long as you have a sufficiently quick connection, amongst others. It's very strange to be sitting here, seeing what was actually written by someone 800 years ago, a person just like us, holding a quill and writing. I like history...
If anyone knows of any similar sites, give me a shout. I'm thinking the big library in New York, which I've forgotten the name of at this moment. Oh, and if you can hunt it down on Google, go have a look at a copy of 'Songs of Innocence and Experience' by William Blake. He was an English poet, but also an engraver, who decorated his poems with pieces of art that let you understand the poems in a slightly different way. Can you tell that I studied him for my English Lit A-Level?
Bis spaeter...
