Oh Shit! Oh Shit! Oh Shit!

In less than 12 hours, I will be sitting in an aeroplane somewhere over the English Channel, halfway to my new home in Germany.

I'm starting to get more than a little nervous. It's a whole other country, for fuck's sake! With a very different language, one that I seem more and more unsure of each and every day. Hence the nervousness.

I'm sure that it'll be fine when I get over there, and that I'll settle in without any problems, but the waiting for it all to happen is starting to get to me. It seems I can barely go 2 hours at the moment without saying goodbye to someone for the last time in a year, whether it be face-to-face, by phone, or over an IM program. It's once more hitting me that I'm not going to see these people for a good long time.

I've also spent far too much of my day today walking to and from the Post Office, for various reasons. I'd forgotten, until the third trip, how far it is to walk. It was only 3-4 minutes away in my memory, but in reality it's closer to 10 minutes away. And fucking well uphill on the way back. In blazing sunshine. Equals sweaty Rob.

And then there was the packing. My suitcase couldn't fit another item inside, no matter how I tried. It's over the 15kg weight limit by 5kg, which equates to a 20-odd quid charge when I get to the airport tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow? Shit, it's really later today! Moving is a whole lot closer than I think.

I'm not sure how and when I will be getting web access over there, so this could be my last post for a little while. Or, I could get bored and end up in an Internet cafe in Stanstead airport tomorrow. Who knows? So long as I don't miss my coach to the airport, I'll be just fine.

Until next time then, Tschuss! (German for 'seeya'. I guess I mustn't be as bad at German as I thought...)
